Bullying and Teen Suicide? With James Armstrong

Since when did we live in a world where people allowed their children to behave so badly towards other children that those children being bullied felt they had no way out other than to commit suicide?  In light of these recent tragic events and the deaths of so many other gay teens and countless other children over the years, I have to ask myself, what could I have done to have stopped this insanity before it started and reached such a sad and tragic end for so many innocent lives?!!!  We live in a time and day where very few people want to take personal responsibility for their own actions or to step up to the plate to be a role model for our youth!

We as parents and citizens all have a direct responsibility to make sure that our children grow up in safe, healthy and happy surroundings where they can grow, flourish and have the ongoing support they need to become all that they can be in life.  Shame on all of us for allowing this to occur!  Instead of blaming everyone else for the problems that we are seeing in the world today, maybe we should all take a long hard look at ourselves and figure out what we can individually do to change ourselves in a positive way to make sure that this type of tragedy NEVER happens again in anyone’s life!!  After all, our children are our future, and if we do not invest in loving, nurturing and mentoring them to be the quality people and citizens that they are all meant to be, then we have no one to blame but ourselves for what happens next.  I for one choose love in my daily actions and strive to continuously support our youth in their personal and professional growth so that this type of tragedy will NEVER happen again!

Candlelight – The Maccabeats – Hanukkah

While it is not Spirit Media Network’s intention to promote any particular religion or mode of spirituality we want to share this fun Hanukkah video! A singing group from Yeshiva University has a Hanukkah hit on their hands. The Maccabeats’ “Candlelight” is sung to the tune of the pop song “Dynamite” by Taio Cruz, and features latkes, candles and a telling of the Hanukkah story. The video for the song has gotten well over 2 million views since its release about a week and a half ago. Based on Mike Tompkins’ a cappella version of Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite”. Did Florida really just legalize gay adoption? With James Armstrong

We live in a world of diverse people with highly charged emotions regarding politics and the values that we each hold as sacred.  I truly believe that how we react and respond to the highly important and controversial issues facing us today is the key to our success as a society and to the world as a whole!  America was founded on diversity and the guiding premise that each man and women are free to be exactly who they want to be and were destined to be.  If each one of us lived our lives from a place of unconditional love and acceptance then what an amazing world this would be!!!  We would each be able to live our lives in a happy and healthy way that worked best for us, instead of worrying about what the joneses are thinking and doing in their lives in relation to us.

Regardless of where you stand on the gay issue, don’t we want our kids to be brought up in homes where there are love unconditionally, accepted for exactly who they are, and supported on a core level to succeed in life in every way possible?   Maybe we need to ask ourselves if all of the hate and judgment of the past has accomplished anything constructive at all on any issue, and whether or not there is a way to be who we are authentically, while agreeing to disagree with each other in a loving way on these kinds of highly charge emotional issues that best support all of our individual success and growth on every level!

Heroes & Leaders ~ Chilean Miners Rescued & Colorado Drilling Team Home From Chile!

We have all witnessed the tragedy and the triumph of the Chilean miner crisis and heroic rescue in South America, but what can we truly gain from this experience?  I think one of the greatest lessons to be gained from this experience is compassionate, clear and strong leadership.

“The real hero, as I’ve said before, was one gentleman in that mine that took control and for 14 days had 33 guys live on one can of tuna fish a day. That takes tremendous leadership and that guy is the hero. He kept those guys alive for 69 days,” said Jeff Hart, one of four Colorado drillers who returned home October 16th from the Chilean mine rescue.

The top leaders of today all know that you cannot gain both respect and maximum results from today’s workers unless you treat everyone in the organization with the caring and respect they deserve while giving them strong visionary leadership at the same time.  How many of today’s organizations that you know of rule their workers with an uncaring iron hand and the business suffers for it accordingly?  Too many I’m afraid, and it’s time to change that old story and create dynamic, caring, strong and supportive new leadership in companies and government that truly serve the needs of both the workers, customers and people alike!  I feel that the greatest leaders of all time have shown true caring, compassion, strength and vision with a clear plan of action that works best for everyone and yields amazing business results on every level.

Positive Business? with James Armstrong

In a world where many business leaders are all about taking everything that they can get and giving nothing in return to their employees and customers who have help to make them the success that they are today, there needs to be a shift in what companies are focused on and how they do business in the new millennium for both their internal and external customers alike!  Many people are giving up on and abandoning companies that do not value them and the contributions that they make to the organization by leaving the company and either starting their own companies or moving on to companies that are in total alignment with who they are and what they value on a core level.

People are sick and tired of working themselves to death and not being rewarded and valued for who they are and the contributions they make to the organizations that they work for!  On the flip side people who work for companies that are positively focused on doing good business while supporting them in their success, and who share their profits with those who help them make it, are seeing record business results despite declining market and industry trends.  How could it be that doing good business the right way while caring about people could make such a difference?!!
